Using this site with assistive technology
What has been built in deliberately, what is still imperfect, and how to tell us when something on here gets in your way.
Built in on purpose
Keyboard throughout
Every link, button, menu and form field is reachable and operable without a mouse, and the focus indicator is visible rather than suppressed.
A skip link first
The first thing a keyboard or screen reader reaches is a link straight past the navigation to the main content.
Real headings in order
Headings are genuine heading elements in a sensible sequence, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure rather than by guesswork.
Labelled form fields
Each field on the callback form has a label properly tied to it. None of them rely on placeholder text to say what they are.
Described images
Photographs carry alternative text describing what is in them. Decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced as noise.
Contrast that holds
Text and background colours were chosen to stay legible, including the small print, and the page works when text is enlarged.
Motion respected
The site honours a reduced-motion preference set in your operating system and switches off its transitions accordingly.
Readable at any width
Pages reflow down to phone width without horizontal scrolling, and zooming does not cut content off.
Where it falls short
We aim at the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard and we are not going to claim perfection, because sites change and faults creep in. Some of the pricing tables are wide and will need sideways scrolling on a small screen. Some older photographs have shorter alternative text than they deserve. If something here stops you doing what you came to do, that is a fault worth hearing about: ring (931) 410-6271, where a person can simply take your details over the phone and no part of this website is involved, or write to hello@clarksvilleroofco.com telling us the page and what happened. Nothing on this site is the only route to us — the phone always works, around the clock.
